Seriously? If this is true, it's a pretty unfortunate way announce to the world that you're gay.
Directioners had a maj freak out last night when a Vine video surfaced showing One Direction's Louis Tomlinson in a hotel lobby in Melbourne, Australia, supposedly saying, "I'm gay. It's pretty unfortunate."
Um, what's so "unfortunate" about being gay? If Louis - or anyone else in 1D - ever did come out of the closet, we sure hope that they'd do so proudly. We'd love the guys regardless of their sexual orientation.
Not surprisingly, the band's hordes of fans were quick to get #ImGayItsPrettyUnfortunate and #LouisWeLoveYouNoMatterWhat trending worldwide on Twitter just moments after the clip hit the Internet.
So, did Louis really come out on Valentine's Day? That would be rather poetic now wouldn't it?
Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's simply not true.
Gossip Cop reports that Louis and fellow bandmate Liam Payne were talking to folks outside the hotel elevator when it came up that one of their birthdays was December 24, the same day as the singer's.
No one likes having their birthday so close to Christmas...which is where the "unfortunate" part came in. People who took part in the convo also jumped on Twitter to clarify, with one heated fan noting, "LOUIS DID NOT COME OUT, SOMEONE SAID THEIR BIRTHDAY WAS ON THE SAME DAY! Not gay, DAY!"
Not yet satisfied? The fan who actually recorded the video, Tyla, added: "If I heard Louis say 'I'm gay' I would [have] reacted like everyone else is now but I heard with my own ears he did not say that."
Crazy how rumors get started, right?
